太空人先發投手韋蘭德（Justin Verlander）13日在主場迎戰釀酒人單場狂飆15次三振創下生涯新高！但他單場也挨了釀酒人3發陽春砲無緣本季第10勝。

韋蘭德這場比賽面對的首位打者肯恩（Lorenzo Cain）只花了3球就讓他揮棒落空遭到三振！這個半局韋蘭德投了2K，但投到紅中的94英哩四縫線速球挨了布朗（Ryan Braun）1發陽春砲丟掉第1分。2局上面對首位打者葛蘭多（Yasmani Grandal）2好球之後投到紅中的滑球被敲出右外野陽春砲，單場挨的第2發全壘打，這個半局韋蘭德又飆了2K，其中蕭（Travis Shaw）也是3球遭到三振！
3、4兩個半局韋蘭德都投出3上3下，送出3次三振。再次遭遇2局上從他手中敲出全壘打的葛蘭多，韋蘭德報仇成功3球三振他！4局下太空人打線單局3支安打加上1次保送攻下3分，比數變成3：2太空人領先。
5局上韋蘭德被首位打者譚姆斯（Eric Thames）敲出二壘安打，但他穩定下來用2次三振1次內野滾地球化解危機。6局上韋蘭德更是勇猛單局狂飆3次三振，首局從他手中敲出陽春砲的布朗吞下3球三振。7局上3個出局數也都是遭到韋蘭德三振，但他卻挨了譚姆斯1發追平比數的陽春砲，這顆挨轟的96英哩四縫線速球投在外角根本沒進好球帶，只能說譚姆斯真的厲害！
